Some comics just make my day :D toothpastefordinner.com

I wanted to stick with the pictures looking like they are documentary type photos, like I'm documenting the world and people at the time. I made it black and white, and normally I like very contrasty pictures, so I had to try and refrain from doing that too much because I wanted the photos to look dull and flat, like the bland text message blobs as each person's head. Things aren't as interesting or as lively. I do think I should have blurred the background a bit more, to obscure the scenery because it's not important to the people in the photos. In the ad (I contemplated how to go about this) I decided that I would make him faceless, because as a picture (within my picture) he is not communicating with others, but it goes to show that people don't see people anymore, they don't see details, etc, etc. So those are just some things about my project, hope you enjoy and I do appreciate feedback :)

If you're wondering how to pronounce the nickname of this French illustrator, it's Ka-mee-ye. Don't worry, I would have never guessed, closest I got was Cammy or Kimmy...Anyways, born in France, Kmye finds inspiration from comics and surrealist artists among others, and I too find inspiration from her. She creates this dreamy, dark, but strangely beautiful world that I'm addicted to. Many of her characters also seem to be influenced from the world of lolita goth that also provokes other artists such as Nicole West who recently created a sculpture, using polymer clay. Steampunk is certainly getting attention and has gained popularity over the past year. I hope it doesn't go over the top and become mass popularized though. It would lose that uniqueness that had first attracted me to it. Anyways, some cool happenings with Steampunk are...Dear Locus,Enclosed is a copy of my 1979 novel Morlock Night; I'd appreciate your being so good as to route it Faren Miller, as it's a prime piece of evidence in the great debate as to who in "the Powers/Blaylock/Jeter fantasy triumvirate" was writing in the "gonzo-historical manner" first. Though of course, I did find her review in the March Locus to be quite flattering.
Personally, I think Victorian fantasies are going to be the next big thing, as long as we can come up with a fitting collective term for Powers, Blaylock and myself. Something based on the appropriate technology of the era; like "steampunks", perhaps...

b) Last month, Knott's Berry Farm released information that the Halloween Haunt this year would be "Victorian Steampunk Vampire" themed. Even though I've lost interest in Knott's Halloween Haunt as it seems to have gone downhill over the past couple years, I must say I'm going to have to attend it this year.
